I just read that Paramount told someone in 2010 if they wanted to make Dune they had to make it on a budget less than 175 million…AND THE HOBBIT’S BUDGET IS HALF A BILLION DOLLARS.

For what it’s worth, that’s for two movies, and there’s also already a Dune movie that no remake is going to top.
