[Flash 9 is required to listen to audio.]You know, I won’t complain all that much about this. I really love that “The Rat” made it. I could give a fuck about Hercules and Annie, and I suppose I understand “Heartbeats”, what with the genre crossing with the Jose Gonzalez cover and all. I think “My Girls” makes more sense than “Who Could Win a Rabbit?”, and maintain that Merriweather is a more accessible record than Sung Tongs. “My Girls” is known outside of the indie spectrum, and maybe that has more to do with the musical climate of today than it does the quality of the song, but it’s the thing that’s catapulting AC into the quasi-mainstream. “Idioteque” was a song I didn’t even consider despite it being one of my favorite Radiohead songs, but I’m really glad it made top 10. I don’t think “Paper Planes” really deserves the number 3 spot, but the 1 and 2 are right. I can’t think of a song that deserves the top spot more than “B.O.B.”, and I’m glad it made it.Speak of the devil. If this isn’t in P4K’s top 10 of the decade, I’m going to be sorely disappointed.Outkast - B.O.B.
it’s going to be number 1. I’m sure of it.
ha! I was right. At least about B.O.B.
Let’s look at my other list:
- “Bombs Over Baghdad”-Outkast
- “Hey Ya”-Outkast
- “Hard To Explain”-The Strokes
- “Who Could Win a Rabbit?”-Animal Collective
- “99 Problems”-Jay Z
- “Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots Part 1”-Flaming Lips
- “Walk Idiot Walk”-The Hives
- “Frontier Psychiatrist”-The Avalanches
- “All My Friends”-LCD Soundsystem
- “Heatbeat”-Annie
- “The Rat”-The Walkmen
- “Ignition (Remix)”-R Kelly
- “Maps”-Yeah Yeah Yeahs
- “House Of Jealous Lovers”-The Rapture
- “Crazy In Love”-Beyonce (featuring Jay-Z)
- “Losing My edge”-LCD Soundsystem
- “Get Ur Freak On”-Missy Elliot
- “Paper Planes”-MIA
- “A Postcard To Nina”-Jens Lekman
- “Crazy”-Gnarles Barkley
I got 14 of them right. I had “Neighborhoods #1” on here but it took it off in favor of Jens Lekman. I guess that was stupid. They went with “My Girls” over “Who Could Win a Rabbit?”. I don’t agree with that. They went with another Daft Punk instead of the The Avalanches modern example of Musique Concrete. I dont agree with that either (especially since “One More Time” is so overplayed). I didn’t even think of “Idioteque” but I dont disagree with that. The Knife? Egh. And I fucking hate that Hercules and Love Affair song. The Strokes should have been on there.

edit: meryl’s musical tastes are still superior :D
